CES 2017 in 5 Minutes, Part 4: Gaming and Drones

In this article, I would like to capture what I’ve seen in 2017 CES for gaming and drones technologies.

In the gaming world, Sony has showcased their PS4 gaming console with more advanced control devices and software. Here are a few example. Don’t be surprised when you see those alien weapons at home!

Samsung has demonstrated lots of gaming monitors, curved or flat display with amazing response time and picture quality.

NVIDIA demonstrated their new Shield TV, not only for gaming and 4K HDR streaming, but acting as a smart device integrating Google Assistant. Along with new NVIDIA Spot, a small device with Mic and Speaker, NVIDIA bring the whole home voice assistant with Google AI service. NVIDIA also brings the gaming to the next level by offering cloud gaming services for people with older PC or Mac to enjoy the high performance gaming experience.

DJI has showcased their foldable Mavic Pro and Phantom 4 Pro in the show. The Mavic Pro is so small and easy to carry.

Here is the video:

Qualcomm also demonstrated a nice looking drone using their Snapdragon processor.

See how it flies in the video:

Beside the big drone makers, I found an very interesting drone made by a startup company PowerUp Toys. It’s not a typical drone, it’s a App Controlled Paper Plane. It allows you to see the view as you were sitting in the cockpit of a paper airplane. Pretty cool!
